FAQs about Traveling Soccer and Registration
The Northfield Soccer Association traveling program is open to U9 thru U19 age players. NSA competitive soccer teams give players an opportunity to develop soccer and teamwork skills, compete against teams from other communities in the metro area and southeast Minnesota as well as play in tournaments and jamborees.
Traveling soccer teams play at a higher level and require a greater commitment of time and effort by players and families than participating in the NSA’s recreational (in-house) program. Teams will have 1 or 2 games per week from early May until mid July as well as practice times. Travel time to games ranges from about 20 minutes to more than an hour each way (teams arrange carpools). Most teams also play in at least one tournament in addition to regular games. In addition to time, traveling teams are part of the Minnesota Youth Soccer League and players, coaches and parents must comply with rules about equipment, deadlines, player passes, and conduct.
Playing nights: Playing nights are set by the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association by gender, age, and competitive level; teams will play games either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday (MYSA Playing night chart).

Other questions:
Proof of age: Your player must have proof of age on file with the NSA. This is usually a copy of a birth certificate, but can also be a passport or driver's license. Player pictures: A photo of each player is required for the MYSA player pass. You can upload a photo of your player (a head shot) or give a small (1" x 1" or passport sized) photo to your team coordinator (please do not mail photos to the NSA).
Medical information forms: Please download the medical information form from the MYSA, fill it out and give it to your team coordinator (please do not mail this form to the NSA). The form does not need to be notarized.
When will we know team assignments? Team rosters will be posted on the NSA website by March 8, 2009. Your player's coach or team coordinator will contact you about practice schedules.
