In House Game Play

General Rules/guidelines for In House soccer, by age group.

Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten

Game play is 3v3 or 4v4 without goalies. Goalkeeping is not allowed. Players should be "in" 75% of the game. Coaches are encouraged to spilt the field and run 2 simultaneous 3v3 games rather than bringing additional players onto the field or having excessive "bench time".   Games are about 30 minutes with a halftime water break.

The field is laid out with cones by the coaches but should be about 1/8th of a soccer field

  • 15-20 yards wide by about 30-40 yards long
  • Goals are of the pop-up variety.

Sidelines are not strictly enforced; just stopping play when kids get too close to spectators, other obstacles, or go behind the goal (hockey style).  No throw-ins yet, the ball will be brought back into play by a coach/referee, either tossing gently, or rolling it into a neutral space. No heading, as heading is not yet encouraged.

Other stoppages allowed for injury or blatant fouls.

Substitutions can be made at any time. And water breaks should be inserted at the coaches discretion. Extras breaks during hot weather.
