Registration Refund Policy

NSA Player Registration Refund Policy *Updated January 4th, 2018*

Summer Travel Program:

When a player registers as a participant in Northfield Soccer Association (NSA), it is viewed as a commitment to an eventual team and to the program. Since NSA operates as a non-profit entity, it is critical for the ongoing fiscal and overall health of the association to properly account for all players. It is the responsibility of players and parents/guardians to read and understand all NSA policies prior to registration.
As such, the NSA Board of Directions has adopted the following refund policy:

Registered players who are NOT initially placed on a team roster for whatever reason or are placed on a team that is dissolved due to inadequate numbers will be provided a complete refund.
Until December 15th in the year before the season begins, refunds will be at the sole discretion of the Board.
After December 15th, no refund of any part of the registration fee will be given, nor will any interclub releases will be processed, with the following exceptions:

A full refund less $100 in administrative costs will be given to players who experience a season-ending injury prior to the beginning of the playing season. The start of the playing season is defined as the first formal team practice session or MYSA sanctioned match, whichever comes first.
A full refund less $100 in administrative costs will also be given to players who physically move out of the general geographic area prior to the MYSA roster submission deadline (no later than March 15th). Outside the general geographic area is considered a distance greater than 30 miles from Spring Creek Soccer Complex.

In a case where a refund is approved by the Board, NSA will retain $100 of the registration fee to cover MYSA fees and other club-level costs. Any money put towards uniform kits and/or individual pieces is nonrefundable.
Once the playing season has begun, refunds due to season-ending injury or geographic relocation will be considered on a prorated basis. If no more than five MYSA sanctioned matches have been recorded, then a 50% refund will be issued. After the fifth match is completed, then refunds for injury or relocation will no longer be issued.
The Board reserves the right to request proof for either medical or geographic relocation refund requests.

Fall Travel Program:

The refund policy for the fall traveling program is different than that of summer travelling, given the short window of time between fall registration and the actual fall season, as well as the differences in length and cost of the two sessions.
A full refund less $50 in administrative costs will be considered for players who experience a season-ending injury or those that physically move out of the general geographic area prior to the beginning of the season.
No refunds for any reason will be considered once rosters have been submitted to MYSA.

Inhouse & Academy Programs:

Refunds for the NSA In-House and Academy programs will be considered on a case-by-case basis and are at the sole discretion of the Board. Those requests should be directed to: inhouse@northfieldsoccer.org or academy@northfieldsoccer.org respectively.
