About Traveling Soccer

Northfield Soccer Association offers traveling teams at U10-U18 for both boys and girls, at various levels of play appropriate for each particular age group. Game play begins early May and continues until sometime in July, depending on how far the team advances in Qualifiers and the State Tournament. Teams play 10-12 games per season and usually play one game per week. Typically teams will practice 2-3 times per week, beginning in April, weather permitting.

We also offer a separate fall session of traveling soccer, which typically runs from mid-August through mid-October.


Registration for fall traveling soccer is CLOSED.


The fall 2022 traveling season is open to players born in 2009 and 2010 (U14), 2011 and 2012 (U12), and 2013 (U10). Training nights and game dates vary by team and will be determined after your player is placed on a roster. The fee is $175. 

Scholarships are available. Please contact Tammy Seymour at to learn more or request a scholarship. Scholarship recipients do not have to make any copayments at the time of registration.


A uniform kit is required for all traveling players. If your child will be playing traveling soccer with our club for the first time this fall, they must order their uniform by July 15 to guarantee arrival in time for the first game. The cost for the standard traveling kit is $85; this cost is not included in the traveling fee.

Team Formation

Teams will be formed immediately after registration closes. Depending on registration numbers, player evaluations may need to be held in order to group players into teams based on ability. Age groups that require an evaluation will be posted here, and players will be notified via email. For questions about team formation, please reference our team formation policy document.

Volunteer Requirement

Like most youth sports organizations in Northfield, we require each family participating in traveling soccer to volunteer a minimum of four hours per year with our association. If you agree to volunteer, we'll send you information about a variety of ongoing or one-time opportunities. If you choose to opt out, you may pay the $200 opt-out fee during registration. Families that agree to volunteer but do not fulfill this obligation by the end of the fall season will be sent an invoice for $200. The volunteer requirement does not apply to families who are only participate in fall soccer.  If you participated in the summer season but have not yet completed your hours, please contact Pasha at

Payments & Refunds

Traveling fees may be paid in full or in three installments, with one-third of the payment due at the time of registration. You will select your preferred payment schedule at the time of registration. Scholarship recipients do not have to make any copayments at the time of registration. View our refund policy.
