35 Select is a Southern Minnesota Soccer League program designed to provide higher-level player development opportunities for qualified players in the region and from partner clubs, including the Northfield Soccer Club. Participants in 35 Select benefit from advanced training, development, and competition in Division 1/Premier games, while maintaining the opportunity to play with their local club and teammates during the spring and summer. The program serves as a complement to the Northfield Soccer Club's programming by offering an elevated soccer experience for qualified players. 35 Select is not a replacement for playing with your local club. You must be registered and participate with your Northfield Soccer Club team in order to take part in 35 Select.

In its first two years, the 35 Select program has included players from New Prague, Northfield, Faribault, Montgomery, Lonsdale, Le Center, Waseca, Mankato, Austin, Farmington, Lakeville, Jordan, and Rochester.

2026 Season

• Boys & girls teams are being formed at U13, U14/15, and U16/17
• 42 practices: two practices per week in winter and one practice per week in spring/summer (we are expecting no conflicts with Northfield Soccer Club traveling season practices or games in 2026)
• 3+ winter games (minimum)
• 4-5 events (tournaments, showcases) depending on age group
• Training locations: Dundas Dome, Shattuck St. Mary's School, Spring Creek Soccer Fields, Webster Soccer Fields
• Will put every effort into fielding teams by specific age group, however we may combine some age groups depending on the number of players
• Players will return to play for their home clubs for the spring/summer traveling season, with extra training opportunities continuing from 35 Select

Tryouts will be held on Saturday, July 19, at the Spring Creek Soccer complex. To reserve a spot for your player in the tryout, please fill out this form. 

• U13 Boys & Girls (2013 birth year) from 9:30–11 a.m.
• U14/15 Boys & Girls (2012 & 2011 birth years) from 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
• U16/17 Boys & Girls (2010 & 2009 birth years) from 2–4 p.m.
