35 Select is a Southern Minnesota Soccer League program designed to provide higher-level player development opportunities for qualified players in the region and from partner clubs, including the Northfield Soccer Club. Participants in 35 Select benefit from advanced training, development, and competition in Division 1/Premier games, while maintaining the opportunity to play with their local club and teammates during the spring and summer. The program serves as a complement to the Northfield Soccer Club's programming by offering an elevated soccer experience for qualified players.

In its first two years, the 35 Select program has included players from New Prague, Northfield, Faribault, Montgomery, Lonsdale, Le Center, Waseca, Mankato, Austin, Farmington, Lakeville, Jordan, and Rochester.

2025 Season

The 35 Select program is rostering U15 (2010), U16 (2009), and U17 (2008) teams for the 2025 season. Roughly 80% of rosters are filled by invitation, with a tryout held in December to fill out the remainder of each team.

Winter training is held once weekly to maintain balance with other commitments. Teams play at least three full-sided games (one each in January, February, and March) and a winter warm weather tournament. A second training session may be added in the week of these events. Training and play locations are centrally located, held at the Dundas Dome, Shattuck-St. Mary's, and Webster FC.

After the winter sessions and events, boys’ teams will participate in a top-level regional 8-game league, USYS Cup, and tournaments. Girls teams will then continue training or play for their home club, ending the summer with a select tournament. 35 Select chooses tournaments and friendly games that offer high competition levels, college exposure, and opportunities for player development.
